Last Thursday I received a rack for a new kind of nuts that I got in. They are actually really good, but I had no way of displaying them for two weeks because the rack didn’t ship when it was supposed to. Anyhow, It was late in the day Thursday, and I thought “hey how hard can this be, I’ll just slap it together and I can get out of here.” I pulled out the instructions and the first thing I saw was the list of tools needed
- Rubber Mallet
- Large Phillips Screwdriver
- 3/4 inch socket w/ ratchet wrench
- grease
- scissors
I thought OK, maybe this won’t be so easy. Then I got into the instructions and they just started getting ridiculous. Here are some excerpts
Step #2
Now attach the shelves starting from the bottom first. From the bottom of the pole count up to holes #4 and #5. This is the location of the first shelf. Loosely fit the Philips screws into the holes. Do not tighten them yet. The holes are not perfectly in a straight line, but the do go together with a little jiggling.
Step #3
… Again, loosely fit the second shelf as you did on the first one using the Phillips screws. You may have to bend the brackets some to get them to line up…
Step #6
… Your rack should now be solid. Don’t worry if the shelves are not exactly level because once you put product on them it’s very hard to tell.
Reassuring let me tell you. Anyhow, in spite of the shady directions, I got the thing together and it actually is quite solid.
solid! I am proud of you baby! now get me a white rack for the basement and I will reward you for your good dead’s!
