Ok, so my computer stuff started coming this week. I had two packages coming from FedEx and two packages coming from UPS. I got the tracking information from all of them, and because I have nothing better to do I tracked all of them every day until they got to Brewster. One of the FedEx packages was scheduled to be delivered on Monday and the other was scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday. On Monday I looked at the tracking information for both packages and it said that both of them had arrived in Canton and were on the truck. Later that day I called my dad about some other things and happened to ask if they both showed up. He said only one of them showed up. I was slightly puzzled because the tracking said that both of them were on the truck. When I got home Monday night I checked the tracking data for the package that did not arrive. It said that it was returned to Canton because it was not due for delivery until Tuesday. So, even though both packages were on the truck and the driver already had to make a delivery on Monday, he had to come back on Tuesday because the one package was not due to be delivered until Tuesday. I was talking to my boss about it and he had the same thing happen to him. He said that since I paid for five day service that was what I was getting. (The package that arrived on Monday was shipped a day before the one on Tuesday, so it also arrived in five days)
I just found that fairly funny.
My history with FedEx has not been very favorable. I have had much better luck with UPS, including a frendlier driver. The last thing I received via FedEx was a wireless microphone I ordered for my church last summer. I paid extra for the second day air, because I was excited to get it. On the day it was to arrive, I sat out on the front porch at the time the FedEx guy normally drives by and watched him pull into the neighbours. After a few minutes he pulled out and went down the road. The next day I watched him go to the same neighbours house, and go down the road again. So by this time I was pretty ticked, so I called Sam Ash to get the FedEx tracking number. Using their traking system I found out that the package was delivered to “back porch” at the same time I saw the truck across the street. So, I decided to go over to my neighbour’s house (who wasn’t home), and see if I could find my package. Inside the door to their back porch was my package. Some loser mistyped the FedEx label. It said “234” instead of “243”. The address was correct on the invoice inside, so I have no idea who screwed that one up.
