Carleigh went to the orthopedist today for her club foot. He is the same one that fixed my brother’s and my club feet. What’s surprising is that he actually remembered us. He remembered that Ben and him were featured on a magazine cover for Akron Children’s. He said that Carleigh’s foot actually looked pretty good. She had x-rays taken and so did I. He wanted to see how my foot turned out after so many years. We were then sent to get Carleigh’s first cast put on. She was actually pretty good while they did it. She only fussed a little. It is a small cast, but it looks huge on her little leg. Now we get to go back every two weeks to get a new cast put on. The guy that did the casting also did Ben and I’s casts. He said I made him feel old. Because of our family history, the Dr. wants to include us in some of his research, so that’s kind of neat I guess. So far she has handled the cast pretty well. She even lifts her leg all the way up, must be stronger than we thought.
Other than that she’s doing very well. She weighed 5.5 lbs with her cast on this afternoon, so I would say she probably weighs about 5 lbs now.
I bet that little cast is so cute! We need to see some new pics of her! Maybe we’ll make it down to visit before our next little one gets here. Glad to hear she’s doing well!
