I forgot to mention that The Live Journal Archiver doesn’t really work that well. Justin gave it a try with his 3,000,000 entries or whatever they are and it couldn’t find enough connections to the server. My alternate plan is to have it launch a separate process that will take as long as it needs (reasonably) to gather the journal information and e-mail the person once their archive is ready. In the mean time I will be looking at alternate methods. It will still be up and you can try it if you like, but it probably won’t work, so I wouldn’t waste my time if I were you.
You sure would think they would have an easier way of obtaining an archive from the site… I still the absolute best option would be if I create my own journaling system, but even so, I would want to get all of my old entries from Live Journal to add to my system.
