We got a bunch of it. I don’t have any specific numbers on amount, but after moving a bunch of it this morning, I can safely say we got a bunch of it. My day started at 6:40 when I got up, got dressed and got the Steiner out. I headed to the store to get started on the walks headed up the first sidewalk and got stuck. I knew then that this was going to be a great day. Dad showed up about 7:20 with the snow plow and pulled me off the snow so I could continue. It was soon apparent that there was going to be too much snow with no place to put it. Dad called his friend with a backhoe and he came and moved a lot of the piles that we had already made. It was kind of neat seeing all three of us work together to get it all cleared. We ended up with some piles of snow that have to be about 10 feet tall behind the store. I was in the office this morning so I headed in about 8:30 to do my duties. I learned that everyone and their brother had called off. All in all 5 people called off today. I ended up in the office all day and I closed tonight, so I was at work over 12 hours. All in all such an exciting day. To top it off I’m going in at 6:45 tomorrow to do floors. Yea! I still don’t hate snow though!
As a side note, I took a quick scan through the old livejornal posts. Seems like the most apparent problem with them is some of the titles are messed up. Particularly near the beginning, some of them are just titled with numbers. I have no idea what they were originally titled, maybe the backup file I made yesterday has the titles, I’ll have to take a look.
Snow?!?!? We got snow? Is that what I got stuck in on Tuesday? I’m cruising along in my mail truck, and I stop at a mounted box (the mail boxes by the road) to insert mail, when all of a sudden I can’t go forward. I start moving sideways towards the box. If I destroy the box, then I’ll get written up for an accident, so I do the next logical thing….. I take my foot off the brake and coast backward. One problem, I’m on a freaking hill and I can’t get any traction until I end up off the road with snow buried up to my rear bumper (about 2ft). I’m more than happy to see spring come as soon as possible.
To finish up my previous comment, I was promptly towed out by the helpful postal mechanic. I tried to talk him into following me around the rest of the day, but he declined. Also, to EVERYONE, please clear a path to your boxes for your letter carrier! I’m walking through snow up to my knees because the homeowner is too lazy to clear a path! Clear a space by the road if you have mounted boxes also, these trucks are horrible in the snow.
