So after having not the greatest evening at work, which for time purposes, I won’t get into Myssi comes into the store right as we were leaving. Her, Gage, Tiffany, and Tiffany’s sister were all going to the Beach City falls. I’d never been there before so I was intrigued. There wasn’t room in Myssi’s car so I followed them. After driving like 85 down 93 to keep up with her we turned down some dirt roads to get there. My poor car. It has neever seen so much punishment. Potholes, railroad tracks, and most of all dust. Lots and lots of dust. My mud flaps kept hitting too, from going too fast over bumps. Every time I heard one scrape, I cringed. So we go by this big rock, Mackin’s rock (spelling is probably wrong, but whatever). Apparently it’s famous or something, because I’m the only one who doesn’t know about it. So yeah, we go by this rock and keep driving and driving and driving and it’s all dirt roads. By this time there is dust coming through my air conditioning. I could even taste it. We eventually come to a major road and pull over. I walk up to Myssi’s car and find out that we’re lost. Naturally no one’s cell phones work either. So we set out on this road (which I suspected and later confirmed was 93) and head back to Beach City. Once we get a cell phone signal, we call Kelly and get directions. So we’ve got directions and know where we are going… great! We head out again and have a lot of deja vu’s. This time at Mackin’s rock we turn the other way. New versions of a lot of the same stuff we’ve already seen. Eventually we come to what looks like something and then I realize that it’s Stark Truss. We’ve just gone in a big circle. I lost it. I couldn’t stop laughing for at least five minutes. It’s probably the hardest I’ve laughed in a long time. So we try again. Going by a lot of the same stuff and what not, but this time turning at the second Chestnut Ridge road. Who knew there were two of them. Not me. But then I didn’t know about the falls, or Mackin’s rock. So we go out this blacktopped road (which means we didn’t need to go out the gravel roads afterall lol) and in no time we are there. After a brief stroll we come upon the falls. It was pretty cool and definatly worth the running around. I mean really without the running around, there wouldn’t be much of a story to tell. We looked around a bit at the falls and headed back because the mosquitos were getting bad and it was getting dark. There is a lot more to explore there. Maybe someday I will go back when there is time to look around. All in all it relieved a lot of stress that built up over the day. Never know what you’re getting yourself into when you agree to an adventure with Myssi 🙂
